When our founder’s father, Michael, grew up in Lockhart, a woman named Nickie Chapa worked in the family’s home.  Among her many responsibilities was cooking for Michael and his four sisters. Nickie, who is of Mexican descent, made some of the best Mexican food around.  Every year around the December holidays, she would make boxes full of tamales that she would ship to friends and family.  This tradition continued for next generation of Glossermans, who would indulge in Nickie’s cuisine on family trips and enjoy re-heated tamales all year long in far flung places around the country. 

Named after this beloved Glosserman family friend, Nickie’s features a “Mex-Tex” menu offering uniquely crafted tacos, loaded nachos with house made tortilla chips, Texas-style chili, fully dressed dogs, mouth-watering burgers, and a daily tamale special.  Frozen margaritas on tap will help wash down Nickie’s crave-able grub.
